## Manufacturer and international retailer

OFUTON KOBO Co., Ltd. (株式会社 お布団工房) manufactures HIMARI 日葵 and SORA 宙 in Oyama, Tochigi, Japan. KAWAGUCHISEIKEN CO., LTD. is the authorized international retailer and operator of www.ofutonkobo.com and its official Shopify store, shop.ofutonkobo.com. These are separate companies with different roles.

## Family heritage and company history

The Tochigi Prefecture 2025 company case study, page 9, records a business origin in 1873 and incorporation in 1949. The 1873 date describes the manufacturer's family-business heritage; it does not date the website operator, the present models, or uninterrupted production of these models.

[Family heritage and company history](https://www.pref.tochigi.lg.jp/f03/service/documents/20260408093254.pdf#page=10)

### HIMARI 日葵

Length: 210 cm
Approximate loft: 10 cm
Manufactured widths: 100 / 120 / 140 cm

### SORA 宙

Length: 200 cm
Approximate loft: 12 cm
Manufactured widths: 100 / 140 cm

## What the current models contain

Both models have cotton covers. HIMARI uses 25% wool / 75% TEIJIN polyester comfort filling and a separate approximately 8 cm firm polyester core. SORA uses 50% wool / 50% polyester comfort filling and a separate polyester support core. The filling percentages are not percentages of the whole mattress. Nominal loft and dimensions can vary; they are product specifications, not new independent measurements.

## Choose by your needs

Compare HIMARI for balanced, medium-firm support with SORA for fuller cushioning. Measure your space: their lengths differ. Both need a firm, level surface and regular airing. Neither is a promise of pain treatment, guaranteed comfort, or a machine-washable whole mattress. Available widths depend on the destination.

## What each source can establish

- Tochigi Prefecture company case study (2025), page 9: manufacturer identity, business history and bedding manufacture. This is not an independent comfort test, a government product endorsement, or proof of this retailer's authorization. [Tochigi Prefecture ·p.9 (PDF)](https://www.pref.tochigi.lg.jp/f03/service/documents/20260408093254.pdf#page=10)
- Manufacturer's Japanese introduction: its own workshop and company narrative. This is a first-party source, not an independent review. [OFUTON KOBO ·日本語](https://www.rakuten.ne.jp/gold/e-futon-kobo/aboutus/)
- Current local product pages and Terms: offered sizes, published prices, care, dispatch, import charges and returns. The official store and checkout confirm current availability and commercial details.
- Customer Voices translates historical 2019 reviews from the manufacturer's own online store. It is not a set of recent verified international purchases of the current HIMARI and SORA models. [Customer Voices ·English](https://www.ofutonkobo.com/about/voices/)
- For J-QUALITY or other certification claims, check the issuer, holder, number, date and scope. A company or factory credential is not evidence of measured comfort or medical performance. The company's mention in the prefectural publication does not establish the current validity of an individual certificate.

## Verify the destination before ordering

These 79 language entries cover published storefronts for 57 countries and regions. Language and currency are shown for each entry; English remains English where that is the offered language. Japan is the manufacturing country, not a listed delivery destination for this international store. Prices, stock, import charges and return conditions may change: use the linked local sources, not another country's quote.
