Choose by exact dimensions rather than size names: HIMARI measures 100 × 210, 120 × 210 or 140 × 210 cm and is approx. 10 cm thick, while SORA measures 100 × 200 or 140 × 200 cm and is approx. 12 cm thick (width × length). No Japanese width matches a local mattress size exactly, so compare these measurements with the usable support area of your bed or the floor space you have, and check your sheets by the same centimetre dimensions.

- SORA 宙: 200 × 100 or 200 × 140 cm, approx. 12 cm thick.
- The names are the same everywhere: 100 cm Japanese Standard Single, 120 cm Comfort Single and 140 cm Extra-Wide Single. Available widths vary by delivery country.

Fitting a frame and choosing sheets
If you plan to use a bed frame built for a local mattress size, measure its inside dimensions and make sure the whole shikibuton is supported. Choose sheets and covers by the centimetre dimensions. Custom sizes are not available.
