What is a shikibuton?
A shikibuton is an authentic Japanese sleeping mat, placed under the body at night and put away after sleep. In Japanese homes, it is laid out on tatami or another firm, dry, level surface, then lifted, aired, and folded in the morning. OFUTON KOBO makes HIMARI and SORA in our own workshop in Oyama, Tochigi, and sends them directly from Japan by EMS.
