SORA is OFUTON KOBO's fuller flagship expression of the Japanese shikibuton. Approx. 12 cm of loft and a 50% premium wool blend bring deeper cushioning and a balanced medium feel, then fold away when the day begins.

For its anniversary renewal, SORA receives calm gray piping around all four edges, giving the ivory cotton surface a more composed, contemporary outline.
The filling is upgraded to a 50% premium wool blend for improved breathability, warmth retention, and resilience. The essentials remain unchanged: Japanese atelier craft, domestic production, and J Quality certification at every stage.
All SORA orders dispatched from May 2026 onward are fulfilled with the renewed 2026 edition.

Yes. SORA is assembled, sewn, inspected, and finished at the OFUTON KOBO atelier in Oyama, Tochigi, Japan.
SORA is made in two widths: the Japanese Standard Single (200 × 100 cm) and the Extra-Wide Single (200 × 140 cm). The 140 cm width is spacious for one sleeper and, by Japanese proportions, can also suit two smaller sleepers. The sizes offered for your delivery country are shown in the size selector.
Yes. SORA is designed to fold into three sections for airing and storage. Its approximate folded footprint is 67 cm by the selected width, with about 36 cm of folded loft.
Use a firm, level, clean, and breathable surface such as tatami, suitable flooring with a moisture-control layer, a platform board, or a ventilated bed frame. Air the shikibuton and the surface beneath it regularly.
