Privacy notice

1. Who operates this website

KAWAGUCHISEIKEN CO., LTD. in Japan operates the international OFUTON KOBO website and is the controller of personal data handled directly through this site. OFUTON KOBO CO., LTD., the product manufacturer, is a separate legal entity.

2. Data handled on this site

The site may process technical request data such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, referring page, device and browser information, and security events. When you email us, we receive the information you choose to provide. Do not send payment-card details by email.

3. Analytics, advertising, and consent

This site uses Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads measurement through the Google tag, with Google Consent Mode. On this Isle of Man website, optional analytics and advertising cookies stay off unless you accept them. You can change your choice at any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

When present in an incoming URL, campaign parameters such as UTM values and advertising click identifiers may be retained for attribution and passed to the official Shopify store when you continue to checkout.

4. Shopify handoff

Product buttons submit the Isle of Man country code, English language, return path, and permitted campaign parameters to the official Shopify store. Shopify then handles store browsing, cart, checkout, payment, and order data under the notices shown on that store.

5. Why we use data

We use data to operate and secure the site, respond to enquiries, preserve market and language context, understand performance where consent permits, attribute advertising where permitted, and support customers before and after an order.

6. Sharing and international processing

We use service providers for hosting, security, communications, analytics or advertising where enabled, and ecommerce. Data may be processed in Japan and in other locations where those providers operate, subject to applicable contractual and legal safeguards.

7. Retention and security

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, security, customer service, legal obligations, and dispute handling. We use administrative and technical measures intended to protect data, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.

8. Your choices and requests

You can use the site's consent controls where available, block optional browser storage, or contact us to ask about access, correction, deletion, or other rights that apply to your circumstances. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Visitors in the Isle of Man may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, request data portability, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to their local data-protection supervisory authority. These rights depend on the circumstances and applicable data-protection law.

9. Children

This website and its products are intended for adults making household purchasing decisions. We do not knowingly seek personal data from children.
