1. Who operates this website

KAWAGUCHISEIKEN CO., LTD. in Japan operates the international OFUTON KOBO website and is the controller of personal data handled directly through this site. OFUTON KOBO CO., LTD., the product manufacturer, is a separate legal entity.

2. Data handled on this site

The site may process technical request data such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, referring page, device and browser information, and security events. When you email us, we receive the information you choose to provide. Do not send payment-card details by email.

3. Analytics, advertising, and consent

Optional analytics or advertising technologies will be activated only under the site's consent configuration and applicable requirements. When present in an incoming URL, campaign parameters such as UTM values and advertising click identifiers may be retained for attribution and passed to the official Shopify store during a product handoff.

First-party visit statistics. Unless you choose Decline in the site's privacy choices, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, this site keeps a random visit identifier in your browser's session storage for the current tab only. It is removed when the tab is closed and is not used on other websites. We record the pages you view on this site, approximate active reading time and scroll depth, the campaign parameters in the address you arrived with (such as UTM values, gclid, gbraid, wbraid, gad_source, oppref, ofk_mt and ofk_ag), the domain of the referring website, your market and language, device type (mobile or desktop), the country determined by our server, and whether you continued to the Shopify store. These events are sent only to our own server, which does not write your IP address or browser user-agent to this log, and they are kept for up to 400 days. When you continue to the official Shopify store, this visit information is added to your cart so that an order can be linked to the advertisement or page that led to it. We use this information to understand which advertising and content genuinely help customers. We do not sell it or use it to track you across other websites. You can choose Decline at any time in the site's privacy choices; this stops the recording and clears the stored visit data.

4. Shopify handoff

Product buttons submit the Taiwan country code, selected language, return path, and attribution parameters allowed by the site's consent configuration to the official Shopify store. Shopify then handles store browsing, cart, checkout, payment, and order data under the notices shown on that store.

5. Why we use data

We use data to operate and secure the site, respond to inquiries, preserve market and language context, understand performance where consent permits, attribute advertising where permitted, and support customers before and after an order.

6. Sharing and international processing

We use service providers for hosting, security, communications, analytics or advertising where enabled, and ecommerce. Data may be processed in Japan and in other locations where those providers operate, subject to applicable contractual and legal safeguards.
