An experienced member of the manufacturing team, Angel has worked at the workshop for 13 years. She rotates between binding, quilt sewing, pillow filling and finishing, and shaping inner filling. She has experience in nearly every process except making the firm support core.
Thirteen years in the workshop
I have been at this workshop for 13 years — joining even a little before the current representative did. Over those years, I have worked on edge binding, quilt sewing, pillow filling and finishing, and shaping the inner filling of shikibuton — almost every process in the workshop except making the firm support core.
One by one, with all my heart
Over thirteen years, I have learned that careful work is more than technique. Before each shift, I remind myself to make every piece with care, one by one, so that the customer receives a good product. That dedication is part of my everyday work.
Passing experience to those who follow
As more people join the workshop, I share the practical details and checks I have learned. The family business has over 150 years of heritage. Today, we learn from earlier generations, add our own experience and pass that knowledge to the next.
Making for the customer’s joy
I want to make futons that bring our customers comfort in everyday life. After thirteen years in this work, that is still what brings me to the workshop each day.
