You may cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, even if the packaging has been opened. Return shipping to Japan is paid by you, and we may deduct for any loss in value from use beyond what is needed to inspect the product.
One store, and who is behind it
OFUTON KOBO Co., Ltd. makes every shikibuton in its own workshop in Oyama, Tochigi. KAWAGUCHISEIKEN CO., LTD. operates this website and the international store, and is the seller and merchant of record for international orders: payment, order management, customer service, returns and refunds. They are two separate companies, and it is worth knowing which one you are dealing with when you write to us.

What the price includes, and what it does not
The final product price and available shipping charges are confirmed at checkout. Import VAT, duties and clearance charges not collected there are paid by the recipient. The authorities or carrier determine these charges; we do not promise a fixed amount, exemption or contribution.
Enter the recipient name and address exactly as the carrier will need them. Incorrect details can fail customs clearance and send the parcel back to Japan, and the postage for a return that is not our fault is paid by the buyer.
Before you order
- Measure the floor, platform or frame in centimetres and compare it with the model dimensions; a similar local size name does not guarantee a matching length and width.
- Check which widths reach your country: Australia receives the 100 cm width only, which is a shipping limit rather than a product one.
- Compare the models and dimensions before ordering. For a return or exchange request, email info@ofutonkobo.com for instructions for your case. Opening the packaging does not automatically remove mandatory consumer rights.
